Clinical partner SERMAS hosted an event on the 24th of September for Master in Direction and Management of Innovation in Health (MINDS) students.

They visited the San Carlos Clinical Hospital, which was a fantastic opportunity to bring together professionals from the various Spanish health administrations to take healthcare to the next level.

Students learnt how to implement innovation in a hospital setting, dealing with challenges such as legal and economic management, how to carry out initiatives that boost hospital services, and how hospitals can maximize their potential in international projects.

During one of the presentations, the European project COVID-X was highlighted as an example of how data can be used to bridge the gap between industry and the health sector. Emphasis was placed on the importance of international collaboration, the work carried out together with the startup SYNAPTIC ApS to optimize the PCR process, and the need to comply with the GDPR, as exemplified in the Legal and Ethical Framework produced during the project.
